Very thin and limited. I was expecting more atlas but each page featured a different state with a small half-page atlas of that state. Not very detailed at all. The entire book was more of an activity book rather than an Atlas. I wanted a more detailed atlas for my kids to peruse. Had to return this one! It was very colorful however (hence the one star).
I purchased this for my 5 year old for a recent road trip up the east coast. It helped preoccupy her, and she loved having an atlas like mommy's. Some of the activities were a little harder for her, but that is because she is 5 and just starting to read. Though I was very happy with the atlas, it lost a star for misspelling two towns that I noticed. One I noticed because I used to live in the town. Others that don't know may be learning the spelling or pronunciation based on those misspellings.
This is exactly what I was looking for to show to my preschooler where we are going. All the other maps out there cover the states with landmarks and animals so my daughter thinks we're going to see buffalo or such. Thank you Rand McNally!
My daughter loves this atlas. We went on a 10 hour road trip and this was hours of entertainment. We loved quizzing each other on state capitals. I love that there are activities on every page.
Great educational atlas for children just learning about the states.
We bought this atlas for our 5 year grandson to use on a trip we were taking with him. He loved the atlas and had it open most of the time and would ask if we were in the next state. It make him feel like he was part of the trip.
My nephew loves maps so this was the best gift for him
My 9 year old loved this and it kept her busy for a long time on our 1200 mile journey.
My daughter really likes this. maps for all 50 states ,and a us map plus games, facts a great book for map reading skills and travel happy kids.
